it separates the artists from the non-artists
creates a connection to a significant
artistic tradition
builds a foundation for advanced work
helps to see things differently
it is repetitive and soothing
builds skills with the medium
builds confidence
builds artistic discipline and craft
is valued by our culture
is valued by kid culture

upsetting....I will be judged
it is so easy to see if I make a mistake
it is so repetitive, I do this every art class
it is out of date, not even relevant today
